evaporative emissions ?

is there any way to delete the evaportaive emisison system without having the gas smell outside of the car? say by routing the vent into the intake tract before the throttle body so the gases go into the intake? i was wanting to get rid of the sensors to kind of clean up the engine bay a bit, but if there isnt any way around it i am going to keep them? anyone have any ways of getting rid of this ?

That's exactly what the EVAP system does - vents the system into the intake. But the PCM controls when it happens, and takes that into account in how it fuels the engine. There are no sensors. There's some tubing and a single solenoid. Why not move the solenoid where you can't see it? If you remove the solenoid, you get a code, which you can eliminate with a resistor or have "programmed out".

yeah i am going to have it tuned out, when i have the computer redone. and rather than go through the solenoid i was just going to route it into the intake tract under the intake tubing, where it cant really be seen..... basically what i was asking is would this hurt anything ? i saw where they have added a filter after the carbon canister, but have heard it leaves a pretty nasty exhaust smell..

When the canister is empty, you'll be pulling in air = bypassing the MAF. So you would have to put it before the MAF. But when it has fuel vapor in it, its going to throw off the engine's fuel calculations. Probably not a big error, but the system is the way it is to prevent these errors.

And, you will need a vacuum relief on the tank or somewhere in the vent system, since you will be pulling a vacuum at all times on the tank. Put a vacuum on the fuel tank, and you run the risk of the fuel flashing to vapor.

that will work thanks injuneer. i amk not to familiar with the evap. soudns like more trouble than its worth. i will just leave it.

reimer96z, i would think the solenoid would be closed if its tuned out, and wouldnt vent properly, but i am not sure...-
