EVAP solenoid check
When the EVAP solenoid is NOT getting 12V. Should it pass through air or not?
Mine is currently open when not connected and if I apply 12V it seems to be remaining open. I know it has sucked up some charcoal from a busted cannister once.
Is it busted?

Yeah it's probably jinked You can get them at an auto parts store for around 30.00. Here's what I did to prevent this (cheap fuel filter inline)evapfilter.jpg?t=1266799086 I added the filter about 2 weeks ago and it has captured some very small charcoal pieces already.
When its full change it out. I paid 2.50 for the small engine filter. It will be the last evap sol I have to buy.

I sliced open the housing and got the charcoal out that was jamming up the pintel. I JB welded it back together and will test it tomorrow.
I will do the filter trick too. I have already gone through one cannister.

You do realize the solenoid always has 12V connected to it when the key is "on". The PCM supplies a ground to open the valve.
In any case, it should be closed, until the PCM supplies the ground.
