EVAP line Connection???????

I just changed my charcoal canister because it was saturated in fuel. Upon removal, I found the middle line (fresh air inlet) connected to the canister, but not connected to anything on the other end. Is this the way it is suppose to be, or does it actually connect to something? Thanks guys!

I have that diagram as well, but notice how the lines get confusing.. That diagram is not the best. Also, notice the evap canisters middle connection does not have a line, and mine does. This might be for a 93 model...

Re: EVAP line Connection???????

I just got done removing my EVAP from my car and the middle line wasn't attached to anything on my car either. I believe that line functions to let air into the canister for when the fuel vapors are sucked up stream to the throttle body. That would make sense seeing that if you wanted to "flush" the canister, one would have to have some sort of air flow through it to get all of the fuel vapors out.
