Equation for figuring out fuel pressure vs. injector lb/hr?
Re: Equation for figuring out fuel pressure vs. injector lb/hr?
Lets call "P1" the pressure the injector was flow rated at. And let's calll the pressure you want to operate the injector at "P2".
New flow rate = "Rated" flow rate x (P2 / P1)^0.5
An example.... say you have a stock injector rated 24 #/HR at 43.5psi, and want to see what it flows at 50psi:
New flow rate = 24 x (50 / 43.5) ^0.5 = 24 x (1.149)^0.5 = 24 X 1.072 = 25.73 #/HR
