Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance

I am considering putting a LT1 from a 96 Z28 in my car. Don't worry, it is wrecked. I wanted to up the power from the engine (from factory 285 to something from 300-350) and I wanted some opinions on Eportworks LT1 LE1 package - actual results, cost/power, etc. Thanks in advance!!

While I can't vouch for the LE1 package, the LE2 head/cam package is awesome. Lloyd knows his stuff and is very good and patient at what he does. I have never heard of one single bad thing about any of Lloyds packages.
I'll be ditching my LE2 heads this winter in favor of some worked over Trick Flows with bigger (2.08) valves and Lloyd will be doing the work for them also.

Try his site, eportworks.com . His numbers posted are very, very close to what will be dynoed. Again, I can't vouch for my dyno numbers because I am switching to more power, but I will be sure to get new numbers with the new top end. You won't be disappointed!

Ok, that sounds good to me. I really like the power. What about the idle. Is it smooth like the LT1s or is it rough? Thanks.

I don't have a LE1 package but i do have a cam made by Bret, the guy that makes the LE cams and its amazingly tame at idle for the specs. I imagine the LE1 cam would be no different.

The idle is pretty smooth, sounds pretty similar to a hotcam car.

Here is a short video of my car idling about 1000 rpm

Horrible

LOL, you can't go wrong with Lloyds work. But the stock engine isn't 285 rwhp. Lloyd's package will be 350+rwhp meaning you'll be transforming a 285 fwhp engine into a ~400fwhp engine.

when you read his site you will see that you need a lot of supporting mods to do this too, longtube headers, full exhaust, intake, fuel upgrades, roller rockers, lifters, throttle body, im sure there is more listed im forgetting.

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance

I like the idle these of the car. It is "grouchy" but pretty smooth. I just didn't want it to sound like my dad's carbed 350 69w SS Camaro. You know, ROUGH.

I read all the requirements when I first saw the sight. I have Hooker Super Comp shorties and single 3.5 exhaust. All the other stuff I'll get before the swap. Would that exhaust flow enough to get in the area of 370ish?

w/ shorties I have heard maybe 10rwhp and tq at most in the difference from shorties to longtubes... I bet someone else will know better though.

I would go long tube, but there is the clearance issue and trying to get it to fit right and all.

The more power you make, the more the shortys will hold you back. People see what 10 hp on a bolt on car over shortys? With heads and cam you may see as much as 20 HP more with the LT's. Maybe more?

Re: Eportworks LT1 LE1 Value & Performance

I may go long tubes if I can find ones that fit without clearance issues. Power is great untill pull the headers off.

What work has been done to the bottom end of the engines with power listed here before the head and cam change? Has there been any clearances, blueprinting, or balancing on the bottom end or rotating assembly? Or are they factory?
