The wire he's speaking of is connected here. http://shbox.com/1/coil_loc.jpg (thanks Rob) Your coil is probably black, not red. What you need to do is get a wire that you can put on the coil and connect a spark plug on the other end.
You could pull the coil wire off the opti and stick a screwdriver in the end and hold it near a ground. But if you do it wrong and don't see spark, you may jump to the wrong conclusion. Shown here but it may be small. http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...31_28_full.jpg
Turbo's point is to see if the coil has spark. If it does and none of the plugs do, you know it's the opti or the coil wire. If some of the plugs do have spark and others not, it's probably wires or plugs but a slight chance it could also be opti cap or rotor but not likely.
If the coil does not have spark, don't just go replacing it till you test a few things.
