Thumbs up Engine vibe disappears after supercharger removal

I never suspected that the ati supercharger pulley would cause an engine vibe. I just took the entire supercharger off the car and took it for a ride today. The vibration I had in the 4000 rpm range is gone, the motor is smooth as silk now. I also love the way the car sounds without the blower, as I can hear the exhaust now. It's a whole different car.

The ati is for sale if anyone is interested.

I'm not going to purchase it, but what supporting mods did you do and how much did the entire setup cost?

Well, the stuff in my signature + forged pistons, h-beam rods, overkill fuel system. I did spend around 50 hours porting the heads and matching them to the intake manifold, which was also ported.

That's good to hear but how do you deal with the power drop and do you plan on replacing that power in another way? I wish I had the dough for a blower setup.

I'm bolting on a Vortech V2 with the aftercooler. The P600B was too loud for me after all these years and I am sick of it. The V2 is supposed to be much quieter, which is what I am looking for. Too bad they don't make a quiet YS trim, because I would buy it!

The other option I had was Paxton, they wouldn't even return my e-mails, and they do not make a kit for the car. I was looking at the Novi 2000. I saw a mustank that had one of these, I couldn't even hear it.

The other option was a turbo, but it was too involved for me, and not street legal either. It would either have to custom installed (big bucks my friend) or I would have to drive to Texas and leave my car with PTK for a month or two. What if my car didn't make it home on the drive back, then what? I really don't like dealing with companies who are out of state. Vortech is local to me.

The Vortech setup is also 50 state legal which is a huge plus if you live in CA like me.

How much are you asking for the blower?

I got a guy interested already. I told him 2 grand for everything, including the twin intercoolers and solid intake pipe. If you are interested, I'd rather deal with someone local. Shoot me a pvt or email please.
Later,
Ed
