engine ticking..with video :(

had headers on for 150 miles with it running good and last 50 miles it was getting bad gas millage and made this noise 15 miles.

after a oil change / warm up it does not make it at idle anymore...

Sounds to me like an exhaust leak.That would explain the poor mileage too.

that was my guess first. but it sounds more solid than sucking air.
i think ill loosen the header bolts and reseat the gaskets to ensure myself

If you are going to do that you might as well pull the gaskets an look for signs of a leak. What gasket did you use?

it was the normal gasket material.. they came with my headers. was not steel ones like OEM.

Get a better quality gasket. Are they Kooks headers?

Check the dipstick as well. I've had mine touch the header and make that noise as well.

I can tell you that I had an exhaust leak and it sounded identical to that. I could of sworn it was something else because sometimes it really does sound like it's rods or rocker or something more serious, but it's just a leak. I would definately try that before you dig too deep.

Sounds like one of your rocker arms came loose to me. My car sounded just like that when I bent a pushrod. I would pull the valve covers off and have a look. you could use a stethoscope too pinpoint the noise, if you don't have one just use a long screwdriver and hold the handle to your ear.

i pulled one valve cover last night and everything seems good in there. im taking headers off and reseating them to see if that is my problem.

still looks like something with motor. headers made no difference

Definately a loose rocker or something up with a rod. Avoid running it too much until it's fixed.

check the trans - the inspection cover and the bolts on the converter/flex plate see if any of those are loose - just a thought

I vote rocker too. u need to take the valve covers off while the car is running and see
