Tonight i started my car and i could hear a ticking sound like 2 or 3 a second. Popped the hood and could see a flicker of light for every tick off the back of the engine bay. Any ideas on what it could be??

probably a spark plug wire shorting on a hot piece of metal that melted thru it or something.

just a guess tho.

Thats what i was thinking. Didnt think about metal melting through it, just tried to figure out how it would have broke lol. Its late and im sick so im not thinking straight.

Hopefully tomorrow i can get it jacked up and see if anything is burnt or broke.

Any more ideas for the reason its happening are welcome.

Yea. a tick with a flash of light in the engine bay is a pretty good indicator of a messed up plug wire
