Re: engine swap

Hmm good question. Obviously a M.a.f sensor, your o.p.t.I,I believe the ccamshaft may even be different I'm by no means an expert but there are quite a few odds and ends that are different burning believe the short blocks are identical. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me will chime in. I own a 93 z28 but have never swapped anything other than the m.s
d o.p.t.I that is vented

Re: engine swap

You will probably want to keep your vented opti, so you will need to swap the cam (if the 93 has a stock cam), the cam gear and the front cover. You will need to use your 95 intake/fuel rails. Most other bolted on stuff (which is not much) you just take off your old engine and put on the "new" one.

Alright thanks, really the whole opti and cam thing was what i was worried about.

So I should be able to just swap out the cam and cover from the 95?

Re: engine swap

The stock 93 cam does not have the large hole in the nose to accommodate the vented opti drive, so you have to swap the cam. The newer cam also gives you the longer dowel pin needed. The front cover also has to have the larger hole for the vented opti drive.
