Engine on a stand? Coyles double roller chain? Gonna use a vented opti? come inside

Looking for one of you guys that have your motor on a stand assembled with a coyles double roller timing chain and using a vented opti to messure the distance the dowl pin sticks outta the cam gear itself when its all together. NOT the dowl pin legnth itself but the legnth that it sticks outta the cam gear. Mine is .365" wondering if thats the correct legnth it should be.... I heard something about .375" being the max it can be. Post your numbers, thanks.....

Why not just remove the gear and measure the total length of the pin? That seems the best way IMO.

It was the pin that was on the original cam from the Caprice motor it came from. The motor had a vented opti, i swaped the pin cus the stock comp cams one was SUPER long. Just makin sure the pin is long enough cus im using a coyles double roller timing chain now, not sure if that will effect it.

Just measure how deep the hole is on the opti. As long as its deeper than what you got sticking out you'll be fine. If your pin is sticking out .365 thats good enough. It just needs to stick out far enough to go into the opti.
