Engine shutoff at 100mph! LT1 experts help!

Whats up guys ...

JUST LITERALLY got the new cam and valvetrain installed by hsw. They heat cycled it and told me I was good to go if I wanted to beat on it a bit.

Heres what happened:

Got on the turnpike and saw an open stretch .. so decided to punch 3rd. I tached out 3rd at 6300 and tapping the rev limiter (not knowing where it was ... first time driving car with cam). Then shifted into 4th and punching it for a solid second then POP POP POP POP POP. Engine shuts off.

I tried to start her back up, and it popped a bit and wanted to turn over, but never did. Keep in mind that I just got a brand new gm heavy duty timing set put on.

Possible problems?:

fuel pump/filter went out? (is stock)
engine flooded when I hit the rev limiter?
something else??????

HELP ME!

That is my first guess. I'd check and see if you have spark.

I love ball-peen hammers. I have 3, 2 small and 1 big. In fact I am currently in the process of making a sword with a ball-peen hammer. They're also great wrapped in cloth for getting rid of minor body-dents in metal bodies.

hey man the exact same thing when i had my comp cam put in. i had it put in by a gm mechanic and he didnt realize the cam dowel pin was to long bolted the opti up (wasnt even flush). screwed the opti just like that. took about 20 miles. driven down the highway to pass a car pop pop pop backfire, shutoff just managed to manhandle the steering wheel in before ghetting hit by a semi truck. true story guys it was scary. but that was what was wrong with mine.

I got only 33 miles out of her before this happened. hsw knows what their doin .. id be surprised if they messed up the cam install when it comes to the dowel pin on the cam ...

Don't worry, that's nothing that hammer and a little super glue can't fix.
