Question Engine oil temp sensor?

I could use the drain plug but I don't like the idea of having to mess with that during oil changes. I've noticed that some people use the low oil level sensor. What fittings are needed to make the sensor spot work? How do you turn off the low oil level light?

Thanks.

Use the plug above the oil pressure sender in the block. You will need an adaptor, it's slightly bigger than the sensor. It is really near the left front CAT (on my car) and I insulated it with fiol to keep off sone of the heat.

Since you have a '94, there is a perfect place to use--the plug right above the oil filter. It's 3/8" NPT.

I run an electric oil temp. sensor from AutoMeter, and put it in this hole with an adapter. Works great! No need to mess with hacking up other places already in use.

Is it really 3/8? The book says it's 1/4.

Thanks for posting that, Rob! You're right.

I remembered incorrectly, it is 1/4" and the Autometer sender is 1/8". I should have checked my own post about this from last year first!

I think I was remembering the size of one of the adapters included with the Autometer sender, which wouldn't fit.

I was just trying to be sure I did not have the wrong info on my pic, that's all.
