Question Engine noise

Ok I have a problem that has been buggin me for a while now and I have to have a solution or its going to drive me insane! I have a noise in the front of the engine like a bearing is giving out, so I took it in and they said it was the power stearing pump. I replaced it and it was still there. Took it back a second time they said might be my alternator( I really didnt think so but replaced it anyway). It still make that noise and on certain days it just gets plain loud. I took a look under the hood the other day and I think I have narrowed it down to the pully right below and to the left of the opti on the passenger side. Does any one know if pullies go bad. I mean they do as does alot of things on our cars but to make this kind of noise?
