engine idle too low

engine idle too low

frequently while starting my 93 z28 the engine idle will set way below 1000 rpm.other times it will set normal, what is the problem.

could be a lot of things

vacuum leak, IAC (idle air control motor)

How does it run the rest of the time? Dirty air filter, restricted air vent or idle passage, faulty opti, air leak, tps or possible engine issues. A torn intake elbow can cause idle issues.
