A real tune, judging by the track times you're leaving an assload of power on the table.

Sorry, my bad, I read that as being stuff you wanted to do. hehe. You are in need of some head work. Even a stage 1 would help quite a bit. I'd suggest even more though.

Dyno tune first, then stall, then gear(4.10 but not good in a stock rear) and drive it like ya stole it.Get some tires and tell yourself"it's GONNA leave"
Ya need a port job on your heads.
Call Richard at West Coast cyl head in Reseda (818) 705-5454. They do beautiful work and will tell ya what the scoup is and NO BS.
Several people on the board do good work also--Loyd Elliot is one.

Re: ENGINE GURU"S NEED advise!!!!

What are your short times? What is your race weight?

With the 4L60E's steep 1st and a good stall, you will have more than enough multiplication to have traction issues even with 3.23s on Nittos. More tire will probably help since I'm guessing your are cutting a best of only around 1.7 or 1.8s. More gear would be a suggestion if you had a different Turbo400 and more rubber but forget it for now, you obviously have problems hooking (based on your 'crappy nitto' comment.

My suggestion for getting closer, more tire and possibly a little lightening.
After that, have the heads done and real tune. Forget the nickel and dime stuff. They make you go broke and have very little bearing in the long run
