A/C and defroster can cause this.

If your a/c is on it will do it.

I have heard if the air pump is not working properly or has blown a fuse the ecm will turn the fans on even when cold, I think that's what was happening to me for a while. Now they don't turn on at all (faulty wiring or a faulty temp gauge) Luckily a couple of wires and a switch remedied that pretty quick.

Is your SES on? The fans come on when it does.

Does it come on when the key is turned ON (bulb test)? Just want to make sure it is working.

ok i checked this weekend and when i put the key in the "run" position, it DOES NOT light up the service engine soon light, all the other ones light up i think, like the "check gauges" light and stuff, but the SES light dosent come on when in the run position, or at all for that matter, but the fans kick on about 5 seconds after starting, defroster or a/c is not on that i can tell.... so knowing this what shold i do now?? also are you 100% sure the ses light comes on on my car when i put the key in the run position? i mean are you sure its supposed to, it does it on my truck like your saying but since the "check gauges" light comes on i thought that was about it, well anyways thanks in advance guys!

yes. the check engine light WILL come on when you turn the key to the on position. this is called bulb test as rob said. either the bulb is blown or someone removed it. either way you DO have a diagnostic trouble code in your computer that is triping the fan on. you will also have a code for the MIL circut since the bulb is blown or out.

get it scanned and see what codes you pull out of it and check the air pump fuse. it;s common
