Lightbulb Engine Build up -- Need Help

O.K. I have a 1993 Z28 and a spare 1995 LT1 motor (Complete).

I am looking to build a 383 stroker out of the 95 motor and put it in my 93.

Just need a heads up on what I may run into, I will be changing all the acc. from my 93 to the 95. I know I need a 93 cam to go in the 95 block, but are the heads the same (93 are stock and 95 have XXX heads).

Now I will be doing a stroker crank, stock rods, and forged pistons, and factory performance cam. Plus some little extras (Rockers & lifters).

I have been told with this mild of a setup I will not have to reprogram my prom, is this true ???

what else may I need to look at getting before the swap. (also i have headers for a 95 that are going on with a few minor changes).

Mine went in with very small changes to get the idle BLMs on. Essentially, I had a trouble-free installation from a PCM point of view.

I am certain if I had gone with a radical cam I would have had to do some major mods to the program.

Don't know what you mean about the prom, it can be reflashed.

If you have a complete 95 engine why don't you just buy a 95 pcm and wiring harness? And if you are using a 95 LT1 with vented opti just use a 95style cam too.

94 would be a easier PCM/harness to use, since it has the correct plugs on the fender(95 had an extra plug)same PCM 94-95, slightly different tune(no biggie)

then you will have a flash programmable PCM

deffinatly go vented opti

Changing from a replacable prom to a Fash prom PCM is alot of work, most of the wires aren't even the same color. Then I have to find a manual PCM not an auto. 93 came with a replacable prom, and every tune has to be done on a seperate prom, then the compuiter taken out, cover removed, and new prom swapped in. This would be 1 big reason not to have to do a retune. If I have to I will, but I would prefer not to.
Unless someone here knows the exact wiring changes to swap from a 93 - 94 pcm, i know exactly where a donor 94 is.

I have the 95 vented opti just that I recently purchased 1 for my 93 chasing down a severe miss.

I can get you the exact wiring changes, I'll be back with some diagrams

EDIT

look here

http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm (courtesy of shoebox)

these are the connector faces, there are only 3 or 4 wires you need to swap, I'll look close and tell you which ones

PS, 93/94 don't have a C105

so looking at that i see maybe 4 wires, I would just need to change this location on the PCM side? another words cut the 93 plugs off at the PCM, attach the 94 plugs and make the 4 changes. If its that easy I may go get that 94 PCM and partial harness this weekend.

those are the differences at the connectors to the car

the harness itself is more different, since the 94 is SEFI, not batchfire like the 93

So the changes listed would need to be done if changing the whole harness?
