Engine build HELP!!/advice
Ok I have a 95 Trans Am I am in the process of building. The engine is at the machine shop they are about to do teardown on Tuesday. I had purchased the XFI 280 230/236 duration, .576/.571 lift, 113 LSA. I had planned on zero decking the block and going with forged rods and pistons, stock crankshaft. I also have ported and polished heads and intake, 52mm throttle body, pacesetter longs egr delete, 36 lbs/hr accels and the occasional 150 to 200 shot of juice. Today the guy who ported and polished the heads and intake offered me a forged rod piston combo with a scat 9000 crank for a 383 asking 800. Keep in mind I have not bought the other set of rods/pistons yet. I guess what my question is would the gain be worth going with 383 or stay with 355. Thanks guys I have never posted but have got a TON of information from you guys already.
