Wink Engine Blown! Whats next????

Just blew the engine on my 96 SS and looking for crate engines. I know the GM LT1 Enigines are like impossible to find and over priced. I have found an engine at www.golenengineservice.com that is a 383 lt1 stroker that puts out 480hp for $5,600 if any1 can point me to a place with a better motor (same or more power) and same price or cheaper let me know.

That 383 is sweet. If you got the cash, go for it.

does that engine i talked about at first seem worth the money? and with all the bolt on's in my signature pluse got a drag launch eibach kit what would be a good estimated time.

Current Mods:
Pro 5.0 Shifter, Programmed PCM, Pulleys, BBK Throttle Body, Granetelli Mass Airflow Sensor, MSD Wires, Iridium plugs, MSD Coil, Injectors, MAC Headers, off road Y-pipe, Cut outs, drag launch kit.

Those combination motorsports motors look alot better than that other one, I doesnt even have forged pistons.....And it doesnt include the intake so the heads wont be port matched to the intake...

If you got the money go for the Pro street 396 thats a setup that will take 800 ponies. And youd probibly only need a 250 sot to get it there. lots of fun there. 9's =P

or if you are on a tight budget the street stroker 383 with stage 2 heads is about the same as my motor, almost exactly. only I Paid about 5,000 and thats doing everything myself...

Why is it that no one ever asks how someone "blew" their engine
