Engine almost in!!! PICS INSIDE

Well i should be able to finish my motor by tomorrow. Just gotta put my clutch in and bolt up the tranny then drop the car back on it. Here are some pics of my progress. Once its in just gotta wait till i get my PCM back. I'll keep you guys posted

Here is the old motor getting dropped from the car

Here you can see the engine on the hoist, the tranny sitting down and the cradle right behind it. I took them apart so i could pressure wash all the stuff and paint some things.

Here is the new motor going in, 383 with some goodies

Thanks i need all the luck i can get. I already came across a couple problems, but always get to work them out

Nice Z28

Wow, that shop that you are in right now, looks very similar to where I work at, even the same Rotory lift, I am a junior tech at the moment, but the wiered think is, I have a White Camaro Z28 like yours , not sure what year you have, but I have been "planning" to put a stroker on mine. May be this a sign to do it. Mine is completely stoke.

made some more progress today, here are a few more pics:

Added the new clutch and flywheel

Most of the stuff transfered over to the new motor

Pretty much got the whole powertrain all in tact. Now it was time to lower the car....

Got everything sitting in and bolted down. Its a little messy, still gotta clean up the engine bay

Well so far today everything is together and the car is rolling. Im just waiting for a few things to get tomorrow at work. I gotta put a new knock sensor on, new belt because i ditch the underdrive pulley. Put on my fuel rail and install the PCM once it get back from Ion....i'll keep you posted on the progress.

Here are some specs if you guys are curious:

383 Eagle Forged rotating assembly
Comp XFI 468 w/ 1.6RR
Stage 3 CNC ported/polished heads
Ported intake with 58mm TB (TB bypass)
CAI, Granatelli MAF
SVO 42lb. injectors
Meziere EWP
Pacesetter LT with 3" ORY
PCM tune by Madz28
!AIR,!EGR,!CATS
M6,4:10 gears, short shifter
Spec stage 3 clutch
Fidanza lightweight flywheel

Thats all i can think about for now, i might be forgetting a few stuff. Hope this will be able to put down 400RWHP

the heads were ported/polished by lonniesperformance.com. Awesome job on heads and have 918 springs. They flow 286/194 and think should work well with the cam.

the clutch was the stage 3 from spec. got it off ebay for around $470

maybe in a couple weeks once the motor is all broken in, i should be able to get it tuned. After that, then a few suspension mods and off to the track it goes.

Do you guys have any guess of what it might put out at the dyno/track?

12.0 range and whatever it dyno's, it dyno's - who cares? If you can get it running well and you're willing to put in the seat time, there's no reason (with a nice set of tires) that the car couldn't run deep into the 11's.
