Engine almost in!!! PICS INSIDE
Well i should be able to finish my motor by tomorrow. Just gotta put my clutch in and bolt up the tranny then drop the car back on it. Here are some pics of my progress. Once its in just gotta wait till i get my PCM back. I'll keep you guys posted
http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...neremoval2.jpg Here is the old motor getting dropped from the car http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...ineremoval.jpg Here you can see the engine on the hoist, the tranny sitting down and the cradle right behind it. I took them apart so i could pressure wash all the stuff and paint some things. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...motown/LT1.jpg Here is the new motor going in, 383 with some goodies :) |
Damn thats a bad ass shop, are you a tech? Good luck with the build!
|
Looks like a dealer shop. Membership must have its priviledges. ;)

yeah im a "lube tech" at a chevy & cadillac dealership just trying to work my way up. I got a master tech helping me with the swap and all he wants in return is the old motor!
Thanks i need all the luck i can get. I already came across a couple problems, but always get to work them out :D |
Nice Z28
Wow, that shop that you are in right now, looks very similar to where I work at, even the same Rotory lift, I am a junior tech at the moment, but the wiered think is, I have a White Camaro Z28 like yours , not sure what year you have, but I have been "planning" to put a stroker on mine. May be this a sign to do it. Mine is completely stoke.

its going in a '94Z with an M6.
Im just curious how the new motor is going to run. I would love to get at least 400RWHP out of it. I guess ill have to wait to find out... |

Now it was time to lower the car.... http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...own/LT1bay.jpg Got everything sitting in and bolted down. everything looks good, esp that xfi 468 cam, same one im looking into, let us know how it runs
who ported the heads? |
nice...on that clutch, what hyraulic upgrade did you go with? I cant seem to find any for our cars.
|
can't wait to see some dyno and track times!...i wish i had a lift at my disposal
|
the heads were ported/polished by lonniesperformance.com. Awesome job on heads and have 918 springs. They flow 286/194 and think should work well with the cam.
the clutch was the stage 3 from spec. got it off ebay for around $470 maybe in a couple weeks once the motor is all broken in, i should be able to get it tuned. After that, then a few suspension mods and off to the track it goes. Do you guys have any guess of what it might put out at the dyno/track? |

If you can get it running well and you're willing to put in the seat time, there's no reason (with a nice set of tires) that the car couldn't run deep into the 11's. |
