You can also try retarding your timing some, and removing a little fuel from the tune...

That's what I had to do to get mine to pass with no emission controls and a completed gutted cat...

Bump the idle up to 1k rpms or so. That will help it (worked on my HOT cam'd car ).

Have you checked your coil? a weak ignition coil can cause High HC levels.

No I haven't checked the coil, and i'm not sure how.

Can anyone tell me how i'd go about reprogramming my car to bump up the idle? Can i just take the file i already have from Ion and get into that and change the idle?

And wouldnt retarting timing make it run richer? I'm probably wrong but just checking

Can you watch the O2 sensors in your scan? I know the log just gives a snapshot at a point in itme. However, from what I am seeing, the O2 sensor data does not seem to change very much between a series of data points. I know when I use freescan, the O2 voltages are constantly cycling between ~50 and 850 or so (I may not have the numbers exact - but it should give you the general idea). Check your connections on the O2's and make sure you have a good connection. That is my 2 cents.

One more thing, and this is based on personal experiece only, what brand of O2 sensor are you using? I have had problems with anything other than AC Delco's. Again, my 2 cents.

Hope this helps.

Well I had a guy work on my car since a bunch of my wiring got burned so he was supposed to rewire one my o2 sensors but he did that wrong so i had to go back in myself and buy a new Ac delco sensor and hook it up. The o2's he put in don't even have a name on them so i'm not sure what brand they are Does the left o2 sensor seem to be the one that's not flucuating enough because that is the no name sensor.
I guess i need to spend another 50 dollers and get a Ac delco sensor.

I'm going to try and run my car through by setting the idle higher, putting in some alcohol and maybe retarding the timing some and even let my car car get a little past the middle mark on the tempature gauge and see what happens.

This is your problem, I had the exact high HC symptoms.
You may be leaking fuel at the top of the gas tank. The lines to the canister may or may not be saturated in fuel. The canister may also be leaking.

If you look at the trace report it should show HC jumping up and down all over the place with not a whole lot of relation to the rest. The big giant tubes they put on your exhaust not only suck exhaust in but all the fumes around your gas tank area too! Raw gas = HC
