Not a bad idea. I might get one. I have had a couple of experiences where the pump quit or a wire came loose and my car overheated.

It sounds like a good idea. I think it would be worth a try for some one to test one of these. I will do a search on the net.

Before I bought that, I'd use a simple current switch around the hot lead to the pump. A current switch is a normally open contact that closes when current is drawn through the wire that it's on. You can wire a light to be on when the motor is drawing amps, and if it ever goes out, you'll know the motor is stopped. If the motor shorts out, it'll blow the fuse, which in turn will kill the circuit and turn the light off too. Use one of these maybe...:
