Lightbulb Electrical problems prior to startup...

Never before have I had this problem: Today, my car started as normal in the morning, I turned the key into the "on" position, waited 2 secs, then started the car (why do i wait 2 secs? habit i haven't broken out of since I installed my new fuel pump) anyways, after letting the car sit then for 4 hours, i turn the key into the "on" position, the lights blink briefly, i hear the seatbelt ding very quickly, then it resumes as normal and all lights up, then starts fine....however, after starting its as if my battery had been disconnected (ie: stereo reset, trip odometer reset to 0, etc) This happened again 2 hours later, and the 3rd time after 3 hours it only reset the trip odometer, and not the stereo....? Any ideas?

once again, heres what happens:

- turn key to on position
- Dash lights flash on, then quickly off, then on again
- car acts as if battery was just reconnected

Thanks for any info.

Check your battery cables and the connections on the RH shock tower.
