Electrical problem! Please help

Car has been running fine since I took it out of storage about a month ago. Today at lunch time I went for a ride and the cd player stopped working, then came back on, went off came on and then I noticed my tach bounceing up by about a 1000rpm, but the car felt fine. The tach fluttered a few more times that I noticed, then at the stop lights it would idle real low, like 400-500 rpm. Then went I left work, everything seemed back to normal. I made one stop, then started the car and my ABS inop light, and my parking brake light stayed on. I turned the radio all the way down and I could hear a buzzing noise that increased in loudness with the cars speed. THEN, i turned the ac on and it made my tach and speedo jump for a second, I'd turn it on and off and it would do this every time. AND THEN, I turned the headlights on and the whole car hesitated for a second and then everything was fine again. My ABS inop and parking brake light when off then too. I tried to shut the lights on and off but nothing happened(except the lights went on and off) If any could help I would really appreciate it, I have no idea when it comes to electrical things. Is it safe to drive it? I hope this is something easy cause I'm putting my headers on Saturday and that is going to require more patience than I have!! Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a low voltage problem. Check your battery cables and connection to the alternator. It could also be that your battery or alternator (or both) are dying. Keeping one in storage is hard on the battery.

Thanks! After I thought about it for a while it does seem to take longer to start than it used to. I'll get a new battery this week end. Will everything be ok if I still drive it? Assuming it will still start in the morning.

If you have a battery cell that is dying, it could cause you some problems. It might be a little hard on the alternator, too (sounds like it was already having problems keeping your car going). Best idea is to get it replaced as soon as you can.
