Electrical problem....help

the car has had to be jumped 4 times in the past 4 days. it's cold weather where i'm at so i blamed that. i just replaced the battery because it was under warranty just to be sure. it's not the battery, the brand new one didn't make a difference, so that rules out the battery and alternator. the car has power untill i turn the key to start the car. once i start turn the key, all power is cut off.
i'm i looking at a bad ground somewhere, or is it a starter problem? i need help and need to fix this by friday so i can get home from school.
thanks for the help in advance

Re: Electrical problem....help

Sounds like a bad connection at the starter. I had a similar issue once with an older car. The hot wire to the starter was going bad from corrosion, which adds resistance to the circuit. Jump starting may be working because you'er adding more power to the system. I found this out eventually the hard way, when the wire just rotted right off and the car just died out. Also check the ground wires like you said, but most importantly check the wires on the starter. I believe you'll have the main power wire, the small solenoid wire, and depending on year, my TA has a ground off the same harness that goes to the passenger side of the engine block right above the starter. Get back to us after you try this.

Re: Electrical problem....help

that was going to be my next advice. Also check out the main power and grounds on the battery. Theres a little red box that splits off main power on the right side strut tower. Make sure its in good condition.
