electric waterpump install

I was just wondering how hard it is to change to an electric waterpump and is it worth the trouble on an LT1?Thanks so much

It's not that hard, I installed one when I was doing my cam so I had it all apart anyway. I did it so I could use the cloyes roller chain and to free up a few hp on the topend. If your car is a daily driver thats mainly stock or with a couple bolton mods I would probably just stick with the stock pump. If the electric pump fails there is little warning and it can leave you stranded.
I had the fuse blow on mine one already, luckily I was just a couple blocks from home at the time. Plus if you dont catch it quick it could result in a blown head gasket or even a cracked head. Here's a good guide to check out that will give you an idea of how hard the install is:

well...It frees up something like 10 Hp, but they are not totally reliable. WIth a stock pump, when it goes out it will still move fluid around, but when an electric dies, your SOL.

If this is a daily driver i **personally** would not reccomend it. You can do search and see what other people had to say, it has been discussed numerous times before. If i did get one, I'd go with the CSI since you dont have to modify anything. SOmeone correct me if I am wrong please.

Actually the Mezeire[trim plastic fan shroud a bit] is easier than the CSI[Dremeling water pump housing required] to install..

with a csi you have to do minor clearanceing to the pump housing. It's not a big deal.

Can't vouch for the CSI, but you will need a 1LE intake elbow or the like with a Meziere to clear the electric water pump motor.
