I just installed the electric WP, bolted everything up and started running water through the top of the water pump and water started comming out of the weep hole. Was I supose to plug it up or something?? why is water comming out of the weep hole?

 

dude, did you put in the freeze plug? Sounds like thats your problem, you have to take it apart again and put in the plug, doh!!

Yes I put the freeze plug in... the plug that you put where the shaft came into the WP to run the mechanical parts, right?

i am lookign at pics now, we put the freeze plug in the wrong way! we put the plug in from the back of the WP instead from the front. grrrrrrr now i gotta take everything apart again!!!!!!

Just pull the pump off and dab some JB weld over the weep hole after cleaning. It will be much easier than trying to pull the plug and everything also.

I would advise not using JB just to plug the hole. Go to the hardware store and get a set screw that is larger than the hole. Drill/tap the hole and thread the set screw in. Use some loc-tite or RTV to seal the set screw from leaking. Works like a charm.
