electric water pump question

Do the CSR and Meziere electric pumps require modding of the fan shroud? Also....who has the best price on one? My water pump started leaking from the bottom so I pulled it off and am now debating if I should spend a little extra for the electric pump or just put a new stock pump back on. Opinions?

The CSR fits pretty snug when installed on the car. It has maybe an 1/8th inch between it and the fan shoud. But you will have to knotch the w/p housing for the CSR to fit. Thats what I have on my '93 and I haven't had any problems out of it yet.

After 3 water pumps(meziere) in the past 3 years, I went back with the stock one and the car runs much cooler that it did with the meziere's.

The electric water pumps may be good for the track but I thing that the stock one is the best for the street driven daily driver. On the real hot days my car would still run around the 220 mark with the meziere.

Went back with the stock one and the temp would rarely make it to the 180 mark even in traffic. If this is your daily driver stay with the stock one. Even the salemans at thunderracing told me that meziere does not recommend that you use their pump for street, however most of us do.

Personally I would run an electric. I have no problems with mine getting over 180 unless it's 90* outside and I'm blasting the A/C, then it barely gets to 200*. Running a stock one is fine too and you don't have to worry about running wires. My Meziere required cutting the fan shroud.
