Electric Water Pump With LT4 timing set

Is it possible to run that combo? I've done a search and read all about the cloyes double roller timing set with the electric water pump, But i don't want to grind my stock timing cover, remove cps & wheel or convert the car to od1. Is it possible to just remove the gear drive to the pump and keep the LT4 timing set i already have?

it is possible. wont hurt anything...but i never had to grind my cover for the cloyes piece. i siwtched to a vented opti cover, along with the vented opti. you wouldn't have to convert to obd1 for a double roller timing chain. . as cheap as cloyes are, it's worth it to me. here's what i had to do for my electric pump/cloyes setup... get a vented opti and cover, put a freeze plug in the cover where the stock cam driven shaft would link to the water pump (freeze plugs supplied by meziere). put another plug in the water pump and thats it. i had to do no grinding or anything. You might have to do some grinding on the stock covers that come with non-vented opti's, but i've never had any problems with a timing cover from a 95 which is setup for vented opti. i have removed a few and never saw any signs of rubbing on the cover.

My car is a 97.. As i found in the searches the Crank sensor will need to be removed & i would need a hub from 94-95 in order to run the double roller. I already have the LT4 chain on my current setup and don't see a need to purchase another timing set if i can get away with this by using what i got.

You must run an electric pump with a Cloyes double roller (it does not have the drive teeth for the mechanical water pump drive), but you can run an electric pump with any timing set. No need to change the timing setup you have. Your stock water pump drive will just sit there and spin without being connected to anything.

True, but personally I'd prefer to remove the water pump drive all together and weld the cover at that point. I also use the Cloyes timing sets, as I feel they have proven themselves to be more durable than an LT4 extreme duty piece.

Can someone shed some light on the how the ATI Super Damper work on cars with the cps sensor on it? I know it has spacers to use but does it have the reluctor wheel for the crank sensor to get it's signal from?
