electric water pump install question

My CSI didn't come with install instructions.

Do I have to remove the waterpump gear as well? Will it give me any extra hp if I do? Logic would say yes but if its less than 1hp I wont bother lol.

Re: electric water pump install question

As far as I know you can just leave the gear and shaft in there. Otherwise you'd have to remove the timing cover. You'll have to press the impeller, shaft, and bearing out of your factory water pump. You'll then have to seal the driveshaft hole with a freeze plug and I would recommend some JB Weld too. It's really not hard at all. Oh yeah, when I installed my Meziere I had to trim the fan shroud. Your CSI pump is probably the same size, so you'll have to do a little trimming too. Good Luck.

We took the shaft out on mine, but put the bearing back in. I really don't think it makes a difference.
