Electric water pump

I think i'm going to need a new water pump soon because i'm noticing a little bit where it may be leaking out slowly, but leaking none the less, and I want to change it before it blows and screws up the opti. I'm hearing a lot of people going with the electric water pump. I know nothing about these...what are the pros and cons of an electric water pump...how hard is it to install? When changing out the water pump, is there a chance of damaging the opti because I just recently changed it less than a month ago. Basically I just need a crash course on it...and can it be done with out screwing up the opti?

I would have bought one a long time ago if i hadnt read all the posts of the Electric pumps that crapped out and overheated there engines. Can be a very expensive problem is you dont watch you temp gauge constantly.

Do a search, this has been discussed many times before. Some pluses are more power, easier to change out..a minus would be that it could go unexpectedly.
