Electric vs Manual Cutout

Just looking for some opinions, advantages, disadvantages to each because all I have heard about either one of them is that the motor on the electric goes out a lot due to the heat.

I have a DMH E-cutout on my Borla, click on the sig for Video/sound Demo.

The DMH has been in my car over 2 months now and I use it a few times a day without any problems. It comes with a 4 year warranty so if you ever have any problems, it will be covered. I heard of guys using it all the time for 3 years without any issues at all. The other E-cutouts are not as reliable or are made with such quality parts as the DMH OR comes with that type of warranty. Its hands down the best IMO.

It takes less than 3 seconds to open or closed my DMH cutout.
I think it will take a few minutes to open or closed a manual cutout but you will have to get out of the car, and probably jack it up.

Theres also a GP going on right now for DMH cutouts in the Paying vendors section of this forum.

Hope that helps,
Claude

Lol Silver, this is like the 1000 post of you promoting the DMH cutout, I would start asking them for commission!
I just ordered an electric cutout, I think the cool factor of being quite at a light and all of a sudden go to an extreme rumble is awesome. I can only imagine the look on the ricers faces as they **** themselves.

So TRUE! But you get your cutout you will be singing his paise too once you see the quality of it and use it a few times.
And it wont only scare off ricers...Read this link below of this run in I had with a new Sweet looking WS6 ls1:

They also have manual cut-outs with a leaver so U don't have to go under the car. Mr. Gasket makes them.

Electric cutouts are definately worth the money IMO. I have a qtec, and have had it on for several months with no problems. Truthfully, I wish I had just got an electric cutout and hadn't wasted my money on the hooker exhaust. Not that there is anything wrong with it, I never close the cutout. The only disadvantage I can see with the electric cutout (other that it screwing up) is the fact the I never close it, practically making it obsolete. However, it is nice to be able to close it from inside if I'm talking to someone, or have a headache, etc.

If you like crawling under the car in the snow or rain, than a manual cutout is perfect for you , but if you like to push a button and stay warm in the car, then DMH e-cutout will do it. Electric cutouts are just a matter of convenience, and it has a suprise effect to the driver next to you

Ok thanks. I have to go with manual for a while b/c of lack of funds but will get EC soon. The next question is DMH or QTP and how much room do I need to tell the shop to leave for the EC? Thanks.

Only main differance is the electric will open and close it for you, o yea and the huge price differance....Id stay w/ the good ol 30 dollar cutout,I keep it open all the time anyway, and if you wanna close it crawl under its just 2 twist screws
