Question Which elec water pump is better?

Which pump is proven to be the better, CSI or Mezziere (spelling?)?

I am going to use a double roller on my 383 setup and I am trying to decide on which pump to use.

Mezier all the way...!!!

Really i can't see there being too much difference in the 2. I guess the CSI is a better price but I had the Mezier before the CSI became popular. I have had zero problems with my Mezier to date. Now I just jinxed myself..

They're both about the same, heard good and bad about both. I chose the CSI because of the price, since neither one had a better history than the other.

They are both supplied the same motor, by the same supplier. They both use the OE housing. The only difference could be in the impeller design. Mezier has been building LT1 pumps longer, and did have a seal problem orginally. They fixed it a while back (before CSI has their pump, I believe). They're both made in the USA...

I use the Merizer because it just seemed easier to me to modify the fan shroud as opposed to the pump housing. If I did it again I would go with the CSI because of price, the fact I now own a Dremel and the fact that the Meizier has gained somewhat of a bad rep as of late. The one I have now works fine though. No problems to speak of.

CSI has been around for a long time, it is odd that more people here are not using the CSI stuff. I'm happy with my CSI, price and quality.

I think people here use the Meizier more because there's a few online guides explaining how to install it whereas the CSI has no online guides. The Meizier also just bolts on. No modification to the water pump housing. SOme people (myself included) are kind of put off by that. I don't see why CSI couldn't have built it so it bolts right one.

Actually, there is one. I used this for my CSI install Ken Lowrance. He posts on this board, actually.

As for whether the Mez or CSI is better, I can't say from my experience (never tried the Mez). I can tell you why I went the CSI though - it was much cheaper, had a more established name, and less reported problems. It was really a no brainer.

I'd go with the csi, its cheaper and I haven't heard any bad stories about it. If and or when i go to an electric wp it will be csi.
