We need to know what year to give you an informed decision. Aftermarket timing sets are only truly available for 95+ because of the vented optispark design and slightly different timing cover. The 93 and 94 LT1s offer only stock replacement sets, which trust me are more than enough. Unless you spin past 7k or something ridiculous, only then would I worry about a Cloyes or something.

CSI is cheaper. Mezz v. CSI? Each require modification to some stock part of the car. CSI you modify the water pump housing and Mezz require no housing changes, but you do need to notch you cooling fans. I chose CSI a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Not a single problem whatsoever...install is a lengthy one actually, but well worth it.
