Re: EGR valve location ??

On the top rear of the engine. It's very hard to see. An inspection mirror is needed to get a good look at it.

It's hardly difficult to find. It's the big round thing on the back of the intake manifold.

What code told you that the EGR was clogged and you need to clean it?

While the location of the EGR valve us the same for all years of the LT1, the PCM diagnostics are not. You need to provide the year of your car. Most people will add a "Signature" with basic info about the vehicle - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods.

There is no code that says the EGR valve is clogged. There are codes that tell you if the EGR vacuum solenoid electrical circuit is bad, and codes that tell you there is no measureable flow through the EGR system (measured by looking at the changes to the MAP sensor when the EGR valve is cycled). But the cause of no flow could be a broken vacuum line, a jammed EGR vacuum solenoid, a faulty EGR valve, or plugged passages. The sensitivity of the diagnostics also vary with the year of the engine.
