Egr Tube
Egr Tube
Has anyone heard that because the EGR tube runs so close to
the corner of the intake manifold that eventually it heats the
gasket and dries it out. Which eventullay causes an oil leak?
I heard that u can rap the pipe in heat tape or try to bend it away from the manifold.

That's one person's theory... not sure everyone else agrees. My stock setup never leaked for 5 years, 75K miles, and my stroker has been chugging away for almost 3 years with no intake manifold leak.
There is no gasket at the point that leaks... just some RTV. If you are concerned about heat and want to play it safe, you could bend the pipe back a little and wrap it with some sort of heat wrap. Just make sure you have the "corrugated" version of the tube before you bend it, and not the soild one. I was never concerned enough about it to wrap it.
