EGR Removal

ok first of all this isnt another thread on how to take it off or what the gains of it will be. I already have it all off. it was kinda a pain but i got it all off and have all the blockoff plates in place. but my question is this, after i took off the egr solenoid, there is a vacum line coming off of it that runs along side the driver side of the intake. how far can i remove all this stuff? the line goes into a little box which splits into two lines i think and then moves to a box at the front of the engine. do i just remove all the lines or is there a point where i need to stop????

BTW, i have never had my car tore apart this much. It doesnt have a hood because i ordered a new one, it is up on jackstands with no wheels and tires because i got new ones, it doesnt have a rear hatch on it because i got a trans am hatch, the interior is torn apart because i am putting a shifter in it. the computer is out waiting to be sent to ion for tuning, the exhaust manifolds and y pipe are off waiting for my pacesetters, the motor is off the mounts waiting for new mounts and the headers, the transmission is off the mount waiting for a new mount, and the rear end is torn down waiting for lower control arms and also i am waiting to get some subframe connectors. Its almost sad because it is starting to get cold here and i know once its finished there will probably be 3 foot of snow on the ground and i wont be able to drive it until spring.

but once i am able to drive it its going to be a completely different car so that keeps me going when i see how depressing she is.

Re: EGR Removal

Something doesn't sound right. You should have a single vacuum line that goes from the vacuum solenoid to a nipple on the drivers side of the intake manifold. See Shoebox's pics:

Take the line off the nipple and put a vacuum cap on it.

Re: EGR Removal

thanks those pics answer my question. I hadnt worked on the car for about a week and after i went out and looked at it i noticed that i was looking at something different and not the vaccum line off the egr solenoid. thanks.
