I was planning on putting my long tubes on today but my EGR block off plates have not arrived (I expect that they will be here tomorrow). My question is what would happen if I put my Lt's on and just left the EGR tube hanging? Would I be ok to drive the car 5 miles to work and back? or am I going to hurt something?

 

If a good, closed EGR valve is in place (vacuum line removed so it cannot open), then you will be fine. This is assuming your headers have no emissions hookups that need closing.
