EGR question...
EGR question...
Well, I got my scanmaster not too long ago, and decided to put it in today. After installing it, i saw that i was throwing an EGR code. After further inspection, i found out that I have an egr soleniod and all of the vaccuum hoses, but i dont have an EGR valve. The vaccuum hose going from the EGR solenoid to the EGR valve is closed off by a big honkin screw at the end of the hose.
So my question is, what are the pros (if any) and the cons of running without an EGR valve? What exactly is its purpose? Is that why my car smells like gasoline all of the time? Is having an EGR line going from the header to the mani but no valve bad?
Any help is appreciated, like always.
Thanks,
Shawn

Engine gas Recycling... it readmits some of your exahusts gasses back into some what ever the hell... I forgot it was a year ago whe nI had an EGR problem... a bunch of folks block it off... It's just there for emissions.
