EGR Question

I just ordered my long tube headers w/no emissions, and my EGR valve is leaking now, so when I install the headers I'm going to block the EGR and take off AIR. A friend of mine told me that I can leave the valve on, and as long as the other port on the back of the intake manifold is blocked, it won't leak. Is this true? Should I just block that 1 port and leave the valve on? Someone please explain to me what I have to do.
Thanks
-Matt

If you want to block off the EGR I machine EGR block off plates. If your interested check out Ebay, I have a few sets on there. You only need 2 plates, both for the intake manifold. Or email me at Mastermatt88@yahoo.ie
