You can get the plate to block the valve from GM. It's cheap and easier than making one IMO.

You'll have to fab up your own block for the tube that goes from the header to the back of the manifold.

 

I used the pieces that were on the back of the manifold already.....I just welded the holes shut and painted them black. There are pics on my page in the sig(2nd page, half way down). took about ten minutes.
