egr block off and AIR removal
egr block off and AIR removal
i wanna know since i got the off road headers from pacesetter what is the deal with the AIR and EGR? do i need to keep the AIR pump in? or can i remove it? where are the places needed blocked off when removing these two systems?
Re: egr block off and AIR removal
EGR is on the backside of the intake and the airpump is on the driver side of the engine bay. Remember that you will need to have your PCM reprogrammed to avoid the SES light from flashing. Go to shoebox's website for a better idea of component locations http://shbox.com/1/component_location_views.html
Re: egr block off and AIR removal
I always hate to be the person that says "try a search", but this question seems to get asked and answered at least once a week.
That said, on your 95, as long as there is a good fuse in the AIR pump power supply, you can disconeect/remove the pump and not get a code or an SES. For the EGR, there's about a 90% possibility you will not get a code or a light for the deleted system, because the OBD-I diagnostic does not seem as sensitive as the OBD-II diagnostic. But it is possible you will get a code/SES.
As far as the specifics of the blocking plates and vacuum caps required, "try a search"
