EGR behind the intake...
EGR behind the intake...
I broke off the vaccume line nipple the comes off it. I was wondering if i can just block it off and have it removed from my computer when i have it re-tuned. If so will i still be able to pass emissions test's? And how will that affect my car? Thanks in advance!
Sorry, i did a search and couldint find anything on it. Otherwise i wouldint of added another junk topic here.

Re: EGR behind the intake...
You can remove it and have it deleted from you computer, I'm not sure about passing emissions. Depending on the year of your car you might not even get an ses light after removal. You need to plug the vacum leak either way.

I think you are a no go for the emissions. I know Cleveland is pretty tight, the fellow I bought my Z off of was very adimate about having the emission papers. Hell I dont need them, I leave out in the country !fookin emissions

What year is your car? If '95 or older, you have to take the roller test. With a stock cam it won't pass the NOx part of the test. An atermarket cam with an LSA of 114 or 112 will pass without the EGR. I have a 112 LSA cam and got a reading of 7.8 PPM out of a limit of 796.0. The '96 and newer don't take the roller test. They just plug into your ALDL port and test from there. Don't know if deleting the EGR from the PCM will help there.
Write what year car you have, trans, rear gear, mods etc. in your signature. Makes it easier to answer your questions.
