EEEK !! Water + Ram air hood = funky running engine
Re: EEEK !! Water + Ram air hood = funky running engine
An exhaust leak will show the O2 sensors oxygen that isn't really there. The car will in turn think its running lean and dump fuel in when infact the A/F ratio is fine. This can cause the car to run rough. Also the difference in backpressure can make the car feel a lot different than your used to.

The guy that put my MSD opti on accidentally did something wrong, not sure what... But it gets wet when I go through the Laserwash or give my car a heavy spraying of water. :blah:
Yesterday I ran it through the Laserwash and picked up a rough idle in the bay (3rd time). :blah: I ran the car in 3rd down the road to keep the RPM up, jumped on the highway and did several WOT runs up to 70. Car ran perfectly after that.
Hopefully yours dries out.

He said a piece of the Y-pipe. He didn't specify where. Anything within even a foot past the O2's will give a false reading. Especially a 2" opening. He never said it was at the back of the pipe. I originally said it was the ignition also. They both were problems. I was just saying an exhaust leak can cause the car to run rough. Either way its fixed now.
