Edelbrock or Hooker LT's
Edelbrock or Hooker LT's
Ok I am looking at a set of header they are edlebrock 1 5/8 headers with a y pipe for 200.00. Is this a fair price they are used and he says they are about 10k miles old. Is the a good deal or should I go with the hooker lt's
I just bought a set of used edelbrock headers.
They were ceramic coated and 7 years old. They looked great. Yet when I taped up the bottom and filled with water they leaked.
On the inside of the primarys at the collector. It looks like a ****ty design. Works good new I assume but a few years and a few speed bumps later you've got a leak.
Most people will say go with long tubes. I myself don't think the extra 200-400 dollars is worth it. I called Chris at Jet-Hot and got a set of Hooker headers shortied with y-pipe both the headers and ypipe are coated shipped to my door 490.00
Gm tech magazine installed a set last month and they had no problems.
I would say coated hookers with y-pipe would make equal HP as non coated macs or long tubs all in the same price range when you have to fab or buy a custom non coated y-pipe. Plus with coated pipes you lower the engine bay temps. Because heat =
in a V8.
If your cheap pacesetter coated headers are 400.00 from JC whitney. I doubt anyone would recommend them.
Next in line is coated BBKs around 470.00 I belive the ypipe is noncoated thats why I went with Jet-hot hookers.

If you want to go with a shorty then I would recommend going with a set of Mac headers over Edelbrock.
