edelbrock heads...

i bought a 93 t/a which the guys says has edelbrock heads on it... it has edelbrock lt headers, it sounds very cammed he says he doesnt remember what kind is in it prolly an edelbrock... accel coil, accel 300 ignition box, flowmaster exhaust, its a 6spd. its got a k&n cai, and a 4.11 rear end (dont know the brand), 2nd gear doesnt work and itll outrun a stock 03 z28 on the street. i can see it has roller rockers if i look in the oil cap. so my question is is there any way i can tell if theyre edelbrock heads for sure? also he said the throttle body isnt stock any way to tell the brand on it?

Re: edelbrock heads...

It should say "Edelbrock" and a part number on both ends of the heads.

dont mean to be an *** but ask him how many 03 z28's he has ran? if he says a few then please dont buy the car. if you cant remember the number of the cam you put in or the type of pther parts you used most likly he put a ****ty combo together. its just weird a car that has a decent amount of work into it and thats all he can remember

That's a good point. I remember the cam specs of engines I built in the late 80's.

Edelbrock long tubes on a 93? Yeah right. Shorties, not long tubes. It sounds like it has a cam because its probably only running on 6 cylinders

No.... they are virtually identical to the stock LT1 heads.

If he's outrunning "03 Z28's" he's living in a dream world, since none exist.

If you placed them side by side what would you notice? Do the Eld's have more room to port or something?

Where did you buy this car from??? Is it red?? Reason I ask is because I knew a Sd.org and EFA member who had the edlebrock setup on a red 93 and haven't seen hide nor hair of him in quite a while now. Might be able to offer some insight on the car.

Re: edelbrock heads...

I think the Edelbrocks have 4cc smaller combustion chambers, and the exhaust valve is 1.55 compared to the stock 1.5 size. Those may help power a bit, along with some supposed bowl blending. They are touted to be a replacement head only. They do have better valvesprings than stock ones. I'm just curious to know if they are any better.

Re: edelbrock heads...

man you all like to hack on people... it does have LT's, and i myself in it have stomped everything from ws6's to 350z's and plenty of mustangs, so it's not exactly slow... the guy i bought it from didnt build it himself he had it built by someone else, and he doesnt know the guy's new phone # so i cant get a hold of him. and its a black t/a. im not gonna keep it like it is im most likely gonna get a LE package to put on it. thats when i get the money, my career doesnt get paid a whole lot...
