ed timing chain
ed timing chain
hello i just bought an xe 230/236 112 cam. is this the timing set i can use with a 1994 z28?i still have a stock waterpump? gm parts direct has kit number 12370835 for like 202.00 dollars is this the one i need?
Yep, a vented opti conversion is required for any chain stronger than stock.
I did a 233/239 just recently and went with a new stock timing chain and crank as well as cam gear. It should be OK although still has slack in it.
Lunati makes a chain for 92-94 LT1s (you can get it from summit I beleive) and looks like someone already tried it and is happy with it. A few weeks ago when I did the cam install, I just decided to go with the stock one. Didn't want to be the first one to try it....
