Cool ECM question

I have a 94 Z with the soldered in ECM chip. I'm just courious if it's interchangable with the 93 ECM with the replaceable chip. I'm doing a head/cam swap this winter and would rather just have a chip burned than send in the whole ECM to have it reprogramed.

Not interchangable.....94 pcm chips have to be flashed. You can send your pcm out to have this done or buy Tunercat /LT1edit software and a cable with a converter and do it yourself with a laptop.

Cool

OK...Maybe I didn't make it clear. I want to swap the entire EMC for a unit with the removable chip. Can I do this???

No! The reason is that the 1993 car is set up on Speed Density System meaning it doesn't have a Mass Airflow Sensor and your 1994 Has a Mass Air flow sensor.

They wiring Harnesses will not match either.

Have a goodone Lee!

OPS...Forgot about the speed density thing. How about the early 95s, before the switch to OBD II

94-95 pcm are interchangable but must be flash tuned to match your car.
